The award recognizes a corporation or organization involved with SOMI which has had a historic and dramatic impact on the program while representing the spirit and ideals of Special Olympics. The company and employees have contributed nearly $420,000. The organization provides year round sports training and athletic competition for 20,752 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes build physical fitness, build self-confidence and develop a sense of community with other athletes and volunteers.
